Hammond was, at three different times, head of the Monson Academy, in Wilbraham, Massahusetts, as well as head of the Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts. Faint vertical crease throughout, foxing to title page and frontispiece from the tissue guard. Bound in somewhat soiled and edge-worn wrappers, and inscribed "Regards of Mrs. H." at the top of the front cover. (Item ID: 6012)
